Does having semi permanent make up hurt?
Advancements in the effectiveness of anesthetics mean a minimum of discomfort for the client.
Anesthetics are constantly applied to the desired area throughout the treatment, making the procedure as comfortable as possible for you.
How long does the semi permanent make up procedure take?
Procedures take approximately between 1 - 2 1/2 hours.
Are the procedures safe?
The highest standards of hygiene are met and have been checked through with Environmental Health. All needles are single use and all items used are single use only.
The pigments used are non-allergenic, dermatologically safe and meet strict European medical standards.
How are the semi permanent make up treatments carried out?
A consultation is normally carried out to discuss the clients expectations and to go through medical history incase of any contra indications. A patch test must be carried out at home before any treatments take place ( I will give you this to take away)
The desired area will be cleaned and a surface anaesthetic applied, a template will be drawn on to the required area and then the technician will begin to implant the pigment into the skin.
Frequently Asked Questions...
How long will semi permanent make up last?
Even though the pigment will stay in your skin indefinitely, the colour will remain visible for a few years, gradually fading over time, the length of time is dependent on the clients age, skin type and lifestyle - exposure to UV rays (always wear a sun block on the areas)
How will I look and feel straight after treatment?
Immediately after your procedure you may find the area slightly swollen, this is to be expected and will lessen over 24 hours.
The colour will be a lot darker on the day of treatment and will lighten by approximately 50% between 5-7 days.
The area may feel slightly tender but this will disappear quite quickly afterwards.
How do you know if a technician has had adequate training and is qualified?
To be sure that you are going to book in with a qualified technician - you must find out where the technician gained her qualification and training; there are a few well established training academies in the UK. The training academy that I worked with was Natural Enhancement who are leaders in their field. Natural Enhancement covered every aspect from cross infection to anatomy to the actual technique of micro-pigmentation.
My micro-pigmentation room has also been checked over and certified by Environmental Health.
What happens to my eyebrow hair?
I frequently get asked if I shave off clients hair beforehand - the answer is definitely NO! I like to preserve as much natural hair as possible and work with/through it, there may be a few hairs that need plucking out after the treatment has been completed, but I will ask always ask permission and work with you at all times, to make sure you are happy and can see what is happening at every stage.
