You may be considering having semi permanent make up applied and like you should be, you may be checking out the technicians local to you or on the web to see who has the best price and what offers they have.
Just to make you aware, please don't go with the cheapest deal you come across, as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for' and you may get just that if you opt for a cheap deal! Remember this is your face that will be on show and you must have someone who has been professionally trained and not someone who has spent £500 on a machine and a 2 day course!
Its all well and good, technicians advertising offers to clients on the treatments that they offer, but when major sites like Wowcher and Groupon offer huge discounts on semi permanent make up, it does make you wonder just how the technicians are able to treat clients all the same at such a low price; as we all know, websites like Groupon and Wowcher take a huge cut of the profit when advertising with them.
Just some background information about the costs for semi permanent make up...
Initial training with an established training school costs on average £10,000
A stand alone machine costs between £3500 - £5000
New needles EVERY time costs approximately £10 per needle
Pigments (that have been clinically checked for use) cost approximately £50 per bottle (technicians have at least 20 shades)
Personal and Premises insurance £300 per year
Licences to practice from the council £400 per year
Which is why when unrealistic offers are snapped up from un-educated clients, it makes you wonder what corners have been cut by the technician?!?
Some so called qualified technicians have trained abroad and have their own techniques in micro-pigmenting strange shaped eyebrows, as well as using cheap machines and cheap needles, that can cause more damage in the skin resulting in the client seeking laser treatment or advice from a skin specialist.
